Borrowing items:
Items can be borrowed for three weeks (or for longer by prior arrangement). Schools can borrow for approx 6 weeks (ie a complete term). Please give 2 weeks notice if wishing to borrow boxes. Boxes are generally not loaned out mid-term. You can order boxes for the whole year which enables us to plan and provide a better service. Charges will be made for any lost, damaged or unreturned items. Any money raised will be used to purchase new resources.
Items
Items can be collected in person from the Centre. Schools can also have items delivered to and returned by the Bristol School Library Service for a reasonable delivery charge. If it is urgent and you are happy to pay the costs, we can post items out to you.
The team provides Resource Boxes of books, posters and artefacts to enrich teaching of Religious Education. There are 36 boxes for the Bristol Syllabus and 11 generic boxes covering the main faiths at Key Stages 1 and 2. We now have duplicates of all these boxes and 19 have been booked out for term 1, with 7 being delivered via the schools library service. We already have orders for the rest of the year so the aim is to get your order in early as it is first come, first served.
Example: A teacher rang on the first day of term requesting a box for term 1 from the Bristol Syllabus. Both boxes were already booked out; however, we were able to offer her one of the generic boxes which she gratefully accepted.
