Reaching those who engage in youth and children’s work is paramount to the work of Dan Jones, the Youth and Children’s Adviser. ‘Newslink’ is a free newsletter produced by Dan three times a year at Easter, Harvest and Christmas, providing youth and children’s leaders with relevant articles, stories, ideas, new resources and training opportunities in and around the diocese. 
Why has this approach been developed?
As the Government moves closer to making training compulsory for all who work with children and young people, the Church of England has (through the Certificates) both the foundation for this in place and is working to achieve best practice. In many cases the Certificates will provide the opportunity to highlight the good work already doing being done.
I have already done some training, why do I need to do any more?
The Certificates are designed to be systematic in their approach providing the opportunity to look in greater depth at the range of issues concerning work with young people.
At the heart of the gospel is the call to love God ‘with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind’ and ‘your neighbour as yourself’ (Matthew 22:37). The Certificate has been developed to encourage you to make this central to all your work with children and young people.
What do I need to do?
Very simple - attend The Key and The Key 2 training in the diocese.
